EMPOWER HER
SERVICE ORGANIZATION
Empower HER serves to increase the attendance of school girls in marginalized communities by providing reproductive education and reusable menstruation products. In doing so, Empower HER strives to embolden young women to be future leaders and agents of their own bodies.
WHO WE ARE
Combining service and health education to embolden young women to become future leaders
Empower HER is a student-initiated organization that combines service and health education to increase young school girl attendance. We began our efforts in San Victor, where young girls skip or drop out of school because they lack the proper knowledge and resources to manage menstruation. As a result, their quality of education and number of opportunities after primary education decline. The organization embraces this fundamental yet basic need, for it empowers women to live life uninterrupted.
WHAT WE DO
We coordinate a pen pal program between students at Loyola Marymount and Catholic San Victor School to learn about what makes us unique yet similar young women. We invite you to learn more about how we develop newfound friendships and mentorship by clicking on the heading!
With this initiative, our goal is to provide health education and resources to marginalized communities like San Victor Village, Belize. We hope that with access to the right resources, young girls may gain the confidence to fulfill their potential- whatever they decide that to be.
